    What about collective discussion?

Post by ThorkellTheTall on Fri Jul 22, 2011 8:24 pm

I don't know what's going on in the developers section, but I liked the use of IRC for the development of Katawa Shoujo if any of you are familiar with that. Do you all have a method of meeting with everyone at once without having to deal with the limitations of forum posting?

    Just throwing that out there.

We have one, though we've yet to figure out whether to have it public or private.

I'm not saying that it should necessarily be public, but it's good that you already have one. It's a huge help to be able to ask "Hey, is ____ a good idea?," and have an instant response, in contrast with the slow moving forums.

I'm going to go get an iScribble session up at an appropriate time, because I'm bored and we can user the three-layer canvas to doodle stuff out.

Being able to doodle something out is certainly something that would be helpful in discussing concepts, so I'd like to explore iScribble down the line.

On that note, we should start organizing brainstorming sessions soon. We have the IRC channel up, and I'm sure GS has iScribble set up, so we just need to set a time and date for these things. IRC could probably go for more story-based or programming-based discussions, while iScribble can hold design, gameplay, and some of the story discussion.

iScribble is going to be for the people who deal with visual development styles—so, yes, the designers and artists would be best off doing the iScribble path.
