    Who I am and why I'm here.

    Post by Sciver on Tue Sep 27, 2011 7:25 pm

    I'm Sciver, also commonly known as Satoh. I'm developing a fan sequel of my own, but am interested in seeing this project come to a proper successful finish, and as such, I've signed up to check in, drop a few ideas, check the progress, etc.

    I'm primarily a 3D artist, but I dabble in programming and especially enjoy getting incredibly cerebral about Legends plot concepts, as I've been doing for more than 10+ years...

    In that time I've developed my own ideas regarding the conclusion of the series, clashing slightly with Capcom's recent development, hence my project.

    That said, I in no way wish to compete with this project at all, and I may in fact offer my resources, should I have any that are suitable. (My project is lowpoly, reminiscent of the PSX, but should I create anything of passable medium-poly design, it may end up here.)

    The advantage for both of us having projects of our own, is that you get more possible resources, and I don't have to worry about my ideas, ones that I particularly like, being ignored, as I can just implement them myself.

    I'm fully willing to share any and all of my ideas.

    I hope I haven't come off as self-important or pretentious...

    In any case... Hi, I'm a guy that wants to see you all succeed.

    Hi there!

    Earlier, a link to your work was posted on the forum. As far as modelling and texturing are concerned, you definitely seem to know what you're doing.

    If you're here to help, we'll be privileged to have you. Happy

    Oh, and apply to the Recruitment Thread if you want a position. It's just a formality we have. Tongue

    Thank you for your compliment, I work very hard on my 3D art!

    I'm not sure whether I should apply for a position or not, to be honest. While I would like to contribute, my attentions will be divided...

    But I suppose that's true of anyone who isn't a developer by profession... I'll keep considering it for now, I don't want to end up disappointing anyone due to extended absence while working on my own things.

    Welcome to our proud venture, Sciver sir. I hope we can share ideas and collaborate on this project, to any extent.

    Welcome, it's nice to see more people joining! I have a personal project MML related, it's not a sequel of MML2, in fact, it's a slightly original concept, (It's all about Elysium) but I find my time to contribute here at least a bit. I Hope you can share some ideas here.

    Hello, Sciver. Sorry for the late "Hello!".
    Anyways, I look forward to working with you, even if you only decide to drop a few ideas here evey once and a while.

    Your welcomes are all appreciated!

    In any case, I've engineered this image from screenshots of the original prototype, take it or leave it, but I figure if your intention is to 'recreate the prototype and finish the game as close to the original content as possible' as I've read, this may be of use.

    Well: now that you've come to meet us, I'd like to come meet you and your own fan effort. Could you please post a link to your resume, perhaps? My interest is piqued.

    We could really use those. Thank you very much.

    I'm sorry for not properly welcoming you the other day, but I've been really busy with a lot of stuff. Nevertheless, you are welcome in here any time you like.

    May our souls cast a blue light that will keep MegaMan with us, forever!

    [*cough* stupid back button on my keyboard caused me to lose me longer, more thoughtful post... ]

    As I was trying to say:
    @Adrian2040
    No formal greetings necessary, and besides, you invited me in the first place. I hope whatever it is that has you busy is resolved soon, provided it's a problem at all that is.

    @General Specific
    My project is more or less a collection of ideas I've accumulated over ten years, and a few failed-to-launch MML3 projects that were either stupid anyway, or have been documented for implementation in the future/present/whatever you choose to call it for a work in progress.
    My project hasn't really a staff complement so much as some guys on deviantArt I'm consulting with and bouncing my ideas off of.
    You can read about the project best in my deviantArt page, and on my "Megaman Trigger" submission there... I would link, but apparently I'm not allowed yet =P... My deviantArt name is Satoh.
    It's a bit longwinded...(It really is quite long...)
    I had planned on mentioning this place to them when I figured out a way to work it into a message... But feel free to on your own prerogative.
    I've been working most with Patt-Ytto, and gungriffon-geona and stateofbeing have agreed to help out with various things. As I'm a bit new to working with a group supporting me, I'm a bit confused as to the details of such, but I try to keep them in the loop when I can.

    I certainly welcome more help, but I also don't intend to steal members or anything. Sorry if I've just disenchanted you of my project. =P

    I plan on using Unity3D as my engine, which I have a bit of experience...moderate to novice though it may be.

    I do have a massive-and-growing document of my ideas and plans for my project, though I've yet to decide where or how to put it online for view.

    Pardon ^^; I do apologize for being longwinded, I get that way when I feel strongly about things like MML.

    @All
    I am so terribly tempted to apply for a position despite my divided priorities, I get the feeling there's a lot more interesting stuff going on in the dev section. But like I said, I can't guarantee how much time I will or won't spend here at any given moment, so I'm still evaluating my options. I really don't like looking back and realizing I was some sort of dead weight.

    I'll check out your gig then, Satoh. Until then, school has a my full and divided attention.

    Oh god, my post didn't post!... Welcome! I think you should consider hardly in applying, since we have many specified things now in the dev section. Maybe you would like what's in there. Any help is pretty much appreciated! Very Happy

    I think you should join as a Developer, Sciver. All it really means is that you have the opportunity to see the Developer board. Even if you only drop by once a year, you can still be a developer here!
    If anything, why not become an "Official Conceptual Designer" or better yet, just a "Designer", or "3D Artist".
    Anyways, whatever you choose to do is cool with me.

    As a V.I.P. Contributor, you may now access every board in the forums without having to commit to development.

    You are welcome! Ecstatic
