Hi, I'd like to apply as a writer. I think it's in what I can help most. Besides, if translations are made I could help with Spanish. I also have had expieriences with Basic and Java, so I know a bit from those.

New recruits! It is time for me to make my plea!

I need more designers—not writers: designers! Now that I'm able to start working on the Gameplay Development forum, I don't want to be the one doing all the design, including ruin design, mission design, hitbox stuff, blah et al. I highly recommend that any of one you new guys join the design team—it'll be a bundle of fun.

I would be happy to join the design team! =) I'm not much of an artist, but I think I could come up with some pretty good ideas for ruins and reaverbots! XD

I am mostly a 3d modeler but I could probably come up with some ruin designs.

I'd rather take in some of our Conceptual Developers before I start stealing from the art department—I'm not going to be a thief here. And, of course, new design recruits would be most commendable as well.

You can still help with ruin designs without having to stop being a 3D modeler.

We're going to have to collaborate with the Artists and, well, just about everybody on ruin design in the long run. I'm looking for more dedicated designers.

Well I'd love to help out as a designer but the problem is though, i have no experiences with the process of making a game.
I have no idea of how to go around doing this.

I like to design things though, and I make stop motion animations in my spare time, which involves alot of planning and designing.

I could use a bit more specific info on how what needs to be done and whatnot.
Again, I'd love to help out.

I've never developed a game in my life, though I'm more than ready to work at it in the long term. If you're aiming to be a designer, then I suggest becoming an Official Designer and joining our nascent design team—it's quite small right now, and we'll be needing more help in that department!

Okay then, I will apply for the design team.

I'm not sure if I will have alot of time in the future (it's too unpredictable at the moment) But I will do my best.

Well, I'd recommend you apply for a Conceptual Developer position if you really don't know if you have the time. You wouldn't have to spend too much time in a dedicated field, and you could just help out whenever you had the time. It's hard to predict where life takes you, anyhow.

Thank you for joining us. You have been given the rank of V.I.P. Developer.

Also, we're developing for the PC and Mac using Unity3D. There are a lot of topics in the Code Developers Sections (Which you can access now) with a lot of information about how to use it.

Hey General, I got a quick question, just for the record.

What would a "Designer" technically cover, in terms of the project? Because I was thinking of trying to make a few rough modelings of a few places(parts of the city, some random ruin designs, etc.) to start with, and I want to know if that counts towards being a "Conceptual Designer"...

Technically, Conceptual Developers are members of the development team that haven't found a specialty in any department, and are there to understand how development for this kind of game works before jumping on into a part of development that they feel most qualified for. Oftentimes, Conceptual Developers just don't have the time to be active in our development forums, which is perhaps why most of them have stayed as Conceptual Developers.

A Designer generally deals with how the game mechanics work with each other in the game design to make an immersive experience for the player—because of this, the Designer has to work with every other department in-development to do what needs to be done. We generally do stuff like: pitching ruin concepts; ruin lay-outs; control schemes for player characters; map schematics; Reaverbot and boss engineering, etc. All of this requires some deal of co-operation with the other departments, which often means that Designers are well-versed with what the other departments do themselves, and how that correlates to what the design team is trying to do. So, in short, Designers are very much like game planners—a whole bunch of mini-Leads! It's a daunting task, but I consider it to be the most fun of all.

If you want to jump into the design team, the best thing you can do is show me some stuff you've come up with and apply—our Design Development forum has several sub-forums dedicated to rearing the youngin's, and letting them show off what they've come up with in-development.

    Application for Conceptual Developer

Post by omegaprime02 on Mon Aug 08, 2011 12:15 am

I would like to apply to be a Conceptual Developer, with these items as my capabilities:

I am a capable writer, but am much better at editing.

I know my way around Photoshop quite well, but I am known as a perfectionist when it comes to image manipulation.

I am capable of doing some advanced code manipulation, but am no good at creating code from the ground up.

I have some knowledge of basic sound board usage, and can easily get my hands on software, and, with some difficulty, hardware.

I have, for another fan-based project, been able to find places to host files and resources, through multiple platforms, including Dropbox, Office Live, .Mac (as of now I can only support use on this platform), and, in a pinch, bittorrent.

If the need be I can also help out on the forms, as I am rarely disconnected from the net, even in the middle of nowhere or at work.

As another note; I am, as a method of venting my fury toward Capcom over this series of events, attempting to find loopholes and laws that would allow legal access to conceptual material from the Prototype Version. This search has been unsuccessful to this point, but I remain hopeful.

If I am given any position I will try my hardest to aid this project. If I am not, I will do everything in my power to provide any aid I can.

Thank you for taking the time to read this application,

Chroma here with two working helping hands!

I'm willing to do concept art and character designs. Animals are my talent, and robots shouldn't be too difficult. I have a DeviantArt account by the same name, which you can use to contact me. I will also do environmental designs as well! Writing will also be a good area for me.

I would like to apply for an artist position in the design department.
I also dabble in Visual Studio 2010, Photoshop CS5, Flash CS5 and some other software.
I'm learning how to use Blender 3d and hope to be able to model well sometime next year.
But for now just art for now.
